Brown County Hospital Home Health is a Medicare-certified agency providing skilled nursing, physical and speech therapies. Services are delivered under the direction of a referring physician and are often utilized after an illness, wound, surgery, stroke, or other disabling event. Home health care may help patients reach and keep their best physical, mental and social well being.
Home care services are paid for by public and private sources or directly by patients and their families. Medicare will cover home health care costs for beneficiaries who meet the following conditions: care is ordered by the physician, services must be medically necessary, the patient must be “homebound” (defined as requiring assistance and major effort to leave home), and the provider agency must be Medicare-certified.
